In a team as varied as the one at PromptCloud, each member of the team brings his or her own flavor to the work dynamics. Sumanth S Jairaj, a hardcore Chelsea fan and a programmer in his free time, brings an entirely new perspective to our team with his can do attitude and a joyful nature. Being born and brought up in Bengaluru, he is our go to guy for any Bengaluru specific bits of information and he is ever ready to answer all your queries. We went to him with a set of our own queries about him, and this is what he had to say:
Q: Tell us about yourself
A: I am a traffic jam enthusiast. I measure distance based on the time it takes me to reach my destination. I can speak multiple languages(Indian languages only and bits of Japanese too).I am a dreamer, I am a thinker (I am right now thinking about how to sleep without anyone noticing me), I adapt to changes readily, I am lazy, in short I am a Bangalorean.
I am a crazy sports fan. I follow every sport be it national or international or gully(my street has a good hopscotch, hide & seek, dodge-ball players but I doubt they can ever be as good as me). I missed/sacrificed many important events in my life for football and my weekends revolve around football fixtures.
Other than sports I love reading books (I have read “the hotel” *mic drop*), newspapers (emphasis on “s”), everything under the sky except for school text-books. I like listening to classical music but I end up listening to whatever comes on radio indigo. I like to watch documentaries and English TV shows as well. I guess such a long list makes me go beyond a single personality or dimension and I like to embrace that fact about myself.
Q: What are you most passionate about?
A: Travelling to pre historic sites. Ever since I was little, I wanted to become a national geographic explorer (I am not joking!) I wanted to travel to various sites, understand how people at that time were able to build such magnificent buildings or able to discover things which still baffles many scientists (I have been told I watch too much of ancient aliens)
Q: What is the best lesson that life has taught you?
A: Never take anything or anyone for granted
Q: What are your 3 most overused words or phrases?
A: My 3 most overused phrases in order of frequency are as follows:
Q: What do you like the most about working at PromptCloud?
A: At PromptCloud I am learning different methods to solve a problem. Also I like how well personal life and work life is balanced.
Q: Any advice that you would like to give to aspiring coding enthusiasts?
A: Solve more problems, find out more ways to reach an end point and never be afraid to try out paths which are new to you.
