The ever energetic bundle of effusing enthusiasm, Dipayan is the first to participate in any activity at work or outside. Irrespective of the amount of work that he might be juggling at any given moment, you can always see his happy self chirping around his desk apart from working. And that is not just it, he is also the leading social pioneer of PromptCloud and we can totally depend on him for some free promotion and juicy updates. Getting to know this guy was pretty easy and here is an insight into how his mind ticks.
Q. Tell us about yourself
A. I’m an M.Tech graduate from NIT Silchar who is very passionate about learning new technologies especially in Big Data and Cloud computing.
I consider myself to be a simple person with very high dreams. I believe in the quote- “You are not born a “Winner”,You are not Born a “Loser”. It’s your Choice to make yourself a winner or a loser”. Hence, I am always on a lookout to learn, gain knowledge about almost everything in the world. I dream to reach the top of the world some day. 🙂
Oh and did I mention that I am a crazy fan of Indian Cricket and the great Mahendra Singh Dhoni!
Q. What do you like the most about your role at PromptCloud
A. I like the exciting challenges that I face in my work! I love the feeling when I initially think I can’t do something and later achieve that with ease 🙂
At PromptCloud, almost every week you will find different challenges. You would learn new things related to distributed technologies. Trust me when I say, this continuous learning process, helps you grow in life, both personally as well as professionally. I have learnt so many things in the past one year and want my learning curve to continue rising at the same pace.
Q. What is your secret to always staying energetic and enthusiastic at all office events?
A. Ha ha. Well, to be frank, I don’t really know. Probably, I’m happy with everything in life. I just want the memories that I collect everyday to be cherished forever.
Q. Any futuristic technology/product that you are excited about?
A. Any new open source framework for large scale data attracts me a lot. However, I’ve done a lot of work in Hadoop in my masters, so you can say I am more partial towards this. 🙂
Q. What do you think applies to you more aptly. Do you live to eat or do you eat to live?
A. I want to say that I ‘live to eat’, but probably I would be exaggerating the matter then, even if just a little bit. 😛 Although I’m an extreme food loving person (Sometimes I work a few hours more just to go out for some special dinner with my colleagues, if their office timing was different 😀 ), but alas I have to give in to my survival instincts to eat in order to survive if by some rare mishap I go without food for too long.
Q. Any advice to fellow data enthusiasts?
A. Restructuring Einstein’s quote- “If you want to live an exciting life, tie it to Big Data, not to any other technology or things”
As someone quoted: “Big data is at the foundation of all the megatrends that are happening today, from social to mobile to cloud to gaming”. This has huge scope in the near future and will tend to grow exponentially. There is so much to learn in this domain, so many new things to explore, that the possibilities are limitless.
Various great minds have started talking on this for quite sometime. Here are the top ten quotes of all time about data: http://goo.gl/DXkwD5 .
