Exposing the wizards behind PromptCloud

Being the hardcore marketing fanatic that he is, Raj Bhatt takes it upon himself to come up with interesting things to keep the fun quotient in the office going up and high. Be it finding events and games in and around the city that can rejuvenate the team or coming up with new and exciting marketing ideas, he does it all. He is also an avid gamer who doesn’t blink his eyes while mercilessly shooting down terrorists in Counter strike. 😛

It won’t be an exaggeration if we say that being a gamer has given him unique skills and competencies applicable in real life. One such skill is singing 😛  He even has his own fan base on Youtube that craves for his vocal performances. Don’t believe us? Watch his performance and judge for yourself 😛

We tried finding out the secrets behind his multiple talents and here is how it went. Warning: Extreme sarcasm ahead.

Q. Tell us something about yourself

A. I can summarize myself in three words, Creative, Efficient and Passionate. My hobbies include sleeping, playing games, eating and some more sleeping. I am a fitness freak; I do not eat more than 2 pizzas a week. I like to read interesting things on the internet and try to learn something new every day. I am a huge movie buff, at least used to be when I was in Mumbai. I admire David Ogilvy, Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerberg and myself. The kind of work they have done in their areas of expertise is phenomenal.

Q. How do you spend your time away from work?

A. I used to play counter strike a lot (retired now). So, these days I just watch TV series, movies, read some Quora, hang around with friends, go looking for new food joints, attend some good meetups and meet others in the community. I have started reading books again, earlier I used to read a lot of books (total of 3 books to be precise), so I decided to get back to reading about things I love to do, like marketing. So currently I am reading Ogilvy on Advertising. He (David Ogilvy) is a genius.

Q. We hear you are a gaming pro, tell us more and what are the best things that you owe to gaming?

A. Yes, I used to be, some while back. Gaming was a huge part of my life, it still is and will always be. Be it playing competitively with my teammates or casually with my college friends, it was always fun. I owe the best of my friends to counter strike, whom I wouldn’t have met otherwise. One more good thing which I owe to playing games is that it actually helps in analysing things and taking quick decisions even in real life scenarios. It certainly doesn’t help you evade Bengaluru traffic though. 😀

Q. What would you do if you were the last living person on Earth?

A. This is a scary as well as an exciting thought. First things first, I would declare world peace, no more fighting. I would travel to all the places I ever wanted to see, even Area 51. I wouldn’t even need a backpack, since all the stores on this planet are now mine and I can just walk in and pick anything I like. I would sail a boat, ride a tank, fly a plane (not sure about this one), use all types of guns, basically I will do everything I do while playing GTA, in real life. I will buy (officially) all super cars like Rolls-Royce, Lamborghini and others for Rs. 1/-, just because I can. The list can be never ending, but in the end, I will head back home, upgrade my internet speed to google fiber, download all the movies/TV series from pirated sites (no laws apply now) and enjoy the rest of my life.

Q. What do you like the most about working at PromptCloud?

A. At PromptCloud, I am always learning new things, finding new ways to do old things and moreover, I enjoy working here because I have complete freedom of handling my responsibilities. We are growing now, in numbers and as an organization, which is exciting. We have a great fun loving team, so we are never bored. What more can you ask for? 😉

Q. What advice would you give someone who wants to take up marketing as his/her career path?

A. I’m not great at advice. But can I interest you in a sarcastic comment? (I love Chandler) On a serious note, I don’t think I am the right person to give advice, but yes, I can say that if you are really interested in this crazy world of marketing, then keep yourself updated on the latest trends which are working these days. Follow the best marketing channels keenly, be it a Facebook page or a blog or a newsletter or my tweets 😀 . Every day, take some time to check them out. See what others are doing in the community and interact with them. Let me give out my little secret or something that I believe in: “Marketing is not about what you do, it’s about how and why you do it.” So keep learning, interact with the best and follow me on twitter @rajbtw 😛
