About YouScan
YouScan launched in 2010 as the first professional social listening tool in the CIS region, built to help businesses monitor conversations and manage their online reputations. Over more than a decade, it has refined sentiment analysis, added real-time Slack alerts, and built Intent Intelligence Technology that helps brands find sales leads inside social conversations. Major consumer brands including Nestle, McDonald’s, PepsiCo, and Vodafone rely on the platform to catch every mention of their name, wherever it appears. That promise depends on data YouScan does not generate itself.
Challenge
A social listening platform is only as good as what it can see. Delivering complete coverage to reputation-conscious brands created several problems:
Coverage is the whole product:
Clients need mentions from mainstream networks plus blogs, forums, reviews, and community sites. Missing even one review or forum post is the exact failure a brand-reputation client is paying to avoid.
Regional platforms most tools overlook:
CIS-based clients depend on deep coverage of local platforms like VK.com, which global monitoring tools often treat as an afterthought.
Models need broad input, not just clever algorithms:
Sentiment and machine-learning models only work on data that actually arrives. A better algorithm trained on a narrower slice of the internet is still a narrower view of what a brand’s audience is saying.
Endless source maintenance:
Building coverage in-house means tracking an enormous, shifting list of sources, each with its own layout and its own habit of changing without notice, multiplied across every country and language market YouScan serves.
For a platform serving multinational brands across many markets at once, source collection was not a background task. It was the thing that decided whether the whole product delivered on its core promise.
Why PromptCloud
Rather than build and maintain all of that coverage entirely in-house, YouScan brought PromptCloud into its data acquisition strategy, a partnership now well into its second decade. The fit came down to four things:
Broad source coverage:
Social networks, blogs, forums, reviews, and community sites across the long tail of sources that matter to reputation-conscious clients.
Strong regional support:
Deep coverage of platforms like VK.com that global tools overlook but CIS-based clients depend on.
Maintenance absorbed:
When a source changes its structure, that becomes PromptCloud’s problem to solve, not a gap in a client’s brand monitoring dashboard.
A proactive partner:
PromptCloud reached out to educate YouScan on its services, which let the team make an informed decision, exactly the kind of approach worth having in a data partner.
PromptCloud’s managed web data acquisition service handles the sources that YouScan’s sentiment engines depend on, delivering clean, structured data. That lets YouScan keep shipping product improvements instead of splitting engineering time between new features and source maintenance.
Implementation
Where PromptCloud sits in the pipeline
PromptCloud runs the source coverage layer beneath YouScan’s sentiment and intent models:
Source data acquisition:
Structured data from social networks, blogs, forums, reviews, and community sites, including the regional platforms that matter most to YouScan’s CIS-based client base.
Layout-change monitoring:
When a source changes its structure, PromptCloud absorbs it in the background so coverage does not gap in a client’s dashboard.
Feeding sentiment and intent models:
That steady feed of real-world text is what trains and runs YouScan’s sentiment scoring and Intent Intelligence Technology.
As most of our clients are now in the CIS region, we also have to provide superior coverage of local social platforms, for example, VK.com and others. So we put a lot of effort into coverage all the time, and we invest a lot to acquire this data, either ourselves or via partners such as PromptCloud, which is really helpful.

Results
With source coverage handled by a managed pipeline, YouScan’s own team could spend its time differently:
Consistent coverage:
Steady data across mainstream social networks, blogs, forums, reviews, and community sites, instead of gaps wherever internal scraping fell behind.
Stronger regional reach:
Reliable coverage of regional platforms like VK.com that matter disproportionately to CIS-based clients.
Better models:
A steady stream of source data to train and improve sentiment and intent models, rather than models limited by whatever collection kept up.
Engineering time reclaimed:
Effort redirected toward product features, including Slack integration and Intent Intelligence Technology, instead of source maintenance.
A promise YouScan can keep:
The ability to assure major consumer brands that a missed mention is a rare exception, not a routine risk.
